i kinda wish she stuck to the pop songs and avoided any of the experimental filler on her album. besides tightrope, her previous ep is much better than the album

I dig her stuff. Totally reminds me of a more "urban" Moloko/Roisin Murphy. Both are kind of quirky, dance-able, nu-jazz, trip hop, hip hop, shiznit.

I listened to the first third of Sandanista! on the bus today.

Viva familia!

Jury's still out on ArchAndroid, but so far I agree with you. The pop-heavy first third of the album is definitely the strongest.

Probably mine too. I think we talked about this. I don't know it very well, but choosing any random track on Sandanista! is guaranteed to pique my interest. I love the variety. The ambition. The production. A bit too much dub & reggae for me, but my irritation is washed away in a sea of groovy tunage.

I'm going to go for some negative rep here...
I like Big Audio Dynamite and Big Audio Dynamite II more than The Clash. The Globe is an amazing '90s pop album; while the songs themselves aren't incredibly complex or strong out of context, the album as a whole is great. It's all so well put together, and flows with creative energy. I knew that growing up I was always supposed to like The Clash - I mean I was a skater-kid all through the '80s. But I just could never really get into them. But then again, we were weird skaters; we mainly skated to The Cure, The Smiths, and Echo and the Bunnymen, with Camper Van Beethoven on the side, and sometimes the Surf Punks.

I love that song also, but it's one of the saddest songs I've ever heard, so I don't listen to it very much.

Sheesh! I always thought they (Love and Rockets) were singing "my delicious bush, yeah" when the actual lyrics are "my delicious ocean". Thoroughly confused. I think they're fucking with my mind.

I just saw a Rise Against, Hole, and Weezer triple line up. What a great show! The vibe was just amazing. The crowd was buzzing and excited but really cool too. Most fun I've had at a concert in a while.
